Dangers of Light to Moderate Drinking during Pregnancy – Published in Trends in Cognitive Sciences


In a recent review article (Drinking During Pregnancy and the Developing Brain: Is Any Amount Safe?) published in Trends in Cognitive Sciences, researchers affiliated with the Collaborative Initiative on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (CIFASD) discuss the risks of drinking during pregnancy, citing evidence from clinical and basic science. The authors conclude that the current state of the science into prenatal alcohol exposure tells us that “there is no known safe level of alcohol consumption during pregnancy.
